Privacy Policy — AI Chat Exporter

Summary

The Extension runs entirely inside your browser. It does not have a backend server, and it does not transmit, sell, or share your conversation data with anyone — including us. Everything the Extension reads or processes stays on your device, in your browser, for as long as it takes to complete the action you asked for (export, copy, or send to another platform).

What the Extension Accesses

To do its job, the Extension reads the content of AI chat conversations on the platforms it supports (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok) only when you actively use it — for example, when you click the export button, the copy button, or the "continue on another platform" button inside the chat interface.

This conversation content may include:

• Personal communications — the text of your conversations with these AI platforms, including any personal information you've typed into them.
• Website content — page elements the Extension reads in order to extract and format your conversation correctly.

The Extension does not access conversations, pages, or data on any site you have not actively used it on, and it does not run in the background or collect anything passively.

What We Do With This Data

• Export feature: the conversation content is converted into the file format you choose (Markdown, TXT, HTML, PDF, PNG, or JPEG) and saved to your device. This happens locally in your browser — the content is never sent to any server, including ours.
• Continue-on-another-platform feature: the conversation content is temporarily held in your browser and inserted into the chat box of the destination platform you choose, so you can continue the conversation there. This is a one-time, user-initiated action — the data is not stored after the action completes, and is not sent anywhere except the destination page you chose, in your own browser.
• Clipboard copy: conversation content is copied to your device's clipboard using standard browser APIs, the same as any other copy action.

We do not use this data for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than performing the action you requested.

What We Don't Do

We certify that:

• We do not sell or rent your data to third parties.
• We do not use or transfer your data for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core function of exporting and transferring your own conversations.
• We do not use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
• We do not run a server that stores, logs, or has access to your conversation content.

Local Storage

The Extension may use your browser's local storage (via the standard chrome.storage API) to save your preferences and settings — for example, your default export format. This information stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

Permissions

The Extension requests browser permissions only for the specific platforms it supports (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok) and only to the extent needed to read the current conversation and insert the export button into the page. It does not request or use permissions for any other websites.

Children's Privacy

The Extension is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect data from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
